Large Selection of Games
High Wagering Requirements
All Star Slots Casino is managed and owned by the Club World Group, the same group which operates Aladdin’s Gold, Buzzluck, Club World, Lucky Red, and Manhattan Slots. The games use Realtime Gaming software.
The primary market for All Star Slots is the United States audience. The Kahnawake Gaming Commission is the jurisdiction which licenses and regulates their business activities. They’re licensed and regulated by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.
Instant Play or Download
Like most modern casinos, their 120+ games are available via download, but they also offer no download, instant play versions of their games. The limited number of games from a single software provider is one of the casino’s drawbacks, but if you like RTG games, that’s not a problem. You just don’t have anything else to choose from there.
All Star Slots Casino does not offer a “no deposit bonus”–at least not in 2016. But they do offer a relatively large welcome bonus for first time depositors. The standard welcome bonus offer there is a 400% matching bonus on your first deposit, with a maximum bonus of $4000.
If you’re new to how online casinos operate, this might warrant some explanation. It’s really pretty simple, though–you deposit $1000. The casino adds $4000 in free chips to your account in order to welcome you as a new player. So instead of starting off with a $1000 bankroll, you effectively have a $5000 bankroll to play with.
Of course, that $4000 bonus is ONLY available if you’re playing slots. If you want to play other casino games, you have to use a different welcome bonus, which is only a 100% matching bonus, up to $1000. This still isn’t a bad deal, as having a $2000 bankroll for a $1000 investment seems more than fair to most players.
But there’s one more catch you should be aware of. These kinds of welcome bonus offers always come with a wagering requirement. This prevents canny advantage gamblers from guaranteeing themselves a hefty profit by taking advantage of bonuses.
In the case of All Star Slots, the wagering requirement for their slots player bonus is 30X your deposit plus bonus. That means you have to make $150,000 in wagers before you’re able to cash out. It sounds impossible at first, but keep in mind that you’re going to be winning some of these wagers. Over the long run, though, the house edge is likely to eat up almost all of that bonus–not always, though. You might hit a big jackpot.
Here’s the calculation that the casino is using, but the numbers are just wild guesses. Let’s say that the average payback percentage for the slots games at this casino is 95%. That’s good, but it’s not unreasonable. It might be more than that. It might be less.
That means the casino expects to keep 5% of the money you wager. If you place $150,000 in wagers, you’re expected to lose a total of $7500. Since your bankroll (including the bonus) is only $5000, the casino expects you to lose all your money.
But that’s just a mathematical expectation. You COULD get lucky and hit several large jackpots in a row, in which case you’d turn a profit.
And since you’re playing with $5000 instead of $1000, you get more opportunities to hit that jackpot than you would otherwise.
The “other games” bonus has the same 30X rollover requirement, but some games are still restricted from counting toward your rollover requirement. These include:
- Sic Bo
You might ask how long it would take to achieve these kinds of wagering requirements? The math is actually pretty easy to do.
You start by looking at the average size of your wager. Let’s assume you’re playing slots for $1 per spin.
Then you look at how many wagers you’re placing per hour on average. The typical slots player makes 600 spins per hour.
That means you’re putting $600 per hour into action. In order to wager $150,000, you’ll need to play for 250 hours. That’s a lot of time to spend gambling, but you can reduce that amount of time dramatically by increasing the amount you’re wagering per spin. If you were to wager $10 per spin, you’d clear your bonus requirements in 25 hours, instead.
Claiming your signup bonus is simplicity itself. Here’s what to do, one step at a time:
- Sign up with the casino.
- Make your first deposit.
- Input the bonus code. (ALLSTAR1 for the 400% slots bonus, or ALLSTAR2 for the 100% “other games” bonus.).
- Claim your bonus in the cashier section.
- Start playing so that you can achieve your wagering requirements.
Signing up for a new account at All Star Slots casino is an easy and intuitive process. If you’ve ever set up an account for anything at all online, you’ll be familiar with the process. You just input your name, address, phone number, and other particulars into the appropriate fields. I use Chrome on my computer, and the nifty autofill feature makes signing up for the casino an even faster process.
It’s easy to make your first deposit, too. My preferred deposit method is Visa or MasterCard. If you’re playing from the United States, you might or might not have much luck with this method. Some of the card issuing banks automatically decline transactions which are coded for a certain purpose. Gambling transactions can cause both legal and business issues for card processors.
But don’t despair if you can’t get your credit card to go through. You can always try one of the many other deposit methods available. Other options include online e-wallets (similar to PayPal) including EcoPayz, NETeller, and Skrill. If you need help with any of these deposit methods, just contact the customer service department at the casino. They’re motivated to earn your business as a customer, so they’ll bend over backwards to help you get money into your account.
I recommend going with the full downloadable casino software on your desktop if it’s feasible. Most of All Star Slots’ games are available in the instant play mode, but not all of them. Also, the graphics and sound effects in the full download are more robust.
Why limit yourself?
On the other hand, if you’re only going to be playing on your cell phone or your tablet, the instant play games might be your best option. Either way, I won’t judge you.
All Star Slots offers over 120 different casino games to choose from. As the casino’s theme would indicate, most of these are slot machine games. Some of the better RTG slots games available at this casino include Bank On It, Cleopatra’s Gold, and Diamond Mine.
The casino offers a limited number of progressive slots games. These include Aztec’s Millions, Jackpot Cleopatra’s Gold, Jackpot Pinatas, Megasaur, Shopping Spree II, and Spirit of the Inca.
But you’re not limited to slot machine games. Some of the table games offer progressive jackpots–these include games like Let ‘Em Ride, Caribbean Hold’em, and Caribbean Stud Poker.
The other table games include classics like blackjack, craps, and roulette. The software package won’t win any awards for glitz, but it’s fully functional, and I’ve never seen any indication via my play on RTG’s software that it offers anything other than what it claims to offer–a computerized simulation of the exact same odds I’d face if I were playing the corresponding game in a live casino.
I should point out to roulette players that you should stick to the European version of the game that’s offered here. I’m not sure why online casinos persist in offering both American and European roulette, as American roulette offers no benefits to the player at all–it just has a house edge that’s twice as high as the European game.
Then again, it’s obvious why online casinos do that. They’re in it to make money, and if the rubes want to play a game that’s almost exactly the same other than being twice as bad for them mathematically, well, why not offer it?
The moral of that story?
Don’t be a rube.
The video poker games are also an excellent option. In fact, I always try to encourage slots fans to give video poker a try. The gameplay is similar, but it offers multiple advantages over traditional slot machine games. For one thing, you get to make decisions which actually have a mathematical effect on your outcome. For another, you face a better payback percentage on almost any video poker game when you contrast it with a slot machine game.
Most video poker games offer a payout percentage of at least 97%, but if you find the right pay tables, you could face a much better payout percentage than that, especially if you play at an expert level. 9/6 Jacks or Better, for example, offers a 99.54% payout.
Slot machine games online probably top out at about 95%, but those are probably the best games at the best casinos. You can’t count on that number. In fact, a more realistic payout percentage for online slots at most casinos is probably 90%.
Luckily, All Star Slots features a good variety of video poker games to choose from, in both one-hand and multi-hand versions. Some of the games available there include Aces and Eights, All American Poker, Bonus Deuces Wild, Bonus Poker, Bonus Poker Deluxe, Deuces Wild, Double Bonus Poker, Double Double Bonus Poker, Double Double Jackpot Poker, Double Jackpot Poker, European Slot Poker, Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, Loose Deuces, Mystery Bonus Poker, Pick’Em Poker (my favorite), and Sevens Wild.
I’ve played at All Star Slots Casino. I’ve yet to have any indication that anything illicit goes on in terms of how they operate. Their customer service team hasn’t always been as demonstrative of finesse as I would hope, but we’re dealing with an offshore operation. Chances are these are minimum wage employees, more or less. But I’ve never had an experience with a customer service person at All Star Slots who made me feel like I was dealing with a scam or being cheated in any way.
All of the games run about like I’d expect. Streaks, both winning and losing streaks, are more common than a lot of players think, but I’m more comfortable with the math than a lot of players. You’ll find complaints about the games cheating, but chances are, these people are just disgruntled losers.
You’ll NEVER see a player complaining on the Internet about how the games must be rigged because they were on a winning streak, will you?
One concern experienced players have with online casinos, too, is how quickly their payouts are processed. I’ve always experienced reasonable payout times when dealing with All Star Slots.
I have no problem recommending that you gamble at All Star Slots Casino.
But keep in mind the following:
- Gambling is illegal in MANY jurisdictions–especially in the United States. You can find plenty of sources on the Web which point out how unlikely it is to be prosecuted for gambling online, but the bottom line is that it’s your responsibility to educate yourself about the laws where you live. And your best bet is to obey them. Any risk you take in terms of breaking the law are your responsibility, not mine.
- Gambling, by definition, means risking money. Casino games at even the most reputable properties carry a definite mathematical advantage for the house. Odds are you’ll lose in the long run. That’s the nature of the game. Don’t blame me or my site if you lose money playing at All Star Slots.
